BIO
Lance Olson
Born in Anaheim California
Lives in the Boise Idaho area.
I started painting at the end of 2014 after my cousin in law gave me a pair of painted mason jars as a birthday gift.
I draw much of my inspiration for my work from the nighttime. Ever since I was a kid I found something comforting and a little bit magical about the night. When I was young my family would visit relatives in Las Vegas. My mother would wake me up as we drove into the valley at night so I could see all the neon signs and colored lights of the casinos. It was a part of the trip I have always remembered even to this day. During the night I enjoy how the darkness and the lights interact with each other to create a playground of color. This relationship between dark and bright is a reoccurring element in many of my pieces.
